Berry Spinach and Spirulina Smoothie with Bolus Tube Feeding Instructions

This is the first homemade bolus tube feeding recipe that I made and fed to my daughter Joran after her traumatic brain injury. Her improvements were amazing and I later found out why: everything I was giving her was healing to her brain.

You can increase the ingredients to make 4 and take some out for a smoothie for yourself before adding the spirulina for the feeding tube. The spirulina doesn’t taste good to me and I would rather drink it separate rather than spoil my smoothie. I add about ½ ice to my smoothie and blend.
I used this recipe as a snack for my daughter between her other meals not as a main meal. Make sure you check with you doctor or nutritionist as to the calories and volume (ounces) you are to give each day depending on your loved ones ages and calorie requirements.
Enjoy,
Katheryn
